What a Tennessee server permit costs
With our course, a Tennessee server permit costs $56, plus any processing charge RLPS adds when you pay TABC. That's $36 for our course and $20 for the application fee you pay the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC).

RLPS may add a small processing charge when you pay TABC's $20 fee.
TABC's $20 application fee
You pay this fee to TABC in RLPS, TABC's online permit system, when you submit your server permit application. TABC accepts only credit card or eCheck. It isn't refundable. It's due with every application, so you pay it again each time you apply for a new permit. The MyTN app, which can hold your permit in your phone's wallet, is free.
Our $36 course fee
TABC's rules require us to pay TABC $15 for each student who passes, when we file the student's score. Our $36 already includes that fee, so you won't see it added at checkout.
The $36 covers:
- the online course, with one year from purchase to finish
- the 65-question final exam
- a link to your certificate of completion by email when you pass (the certificate isn't a server permit)
- filing your passing score with TABC, including the $15 fee
TABC counts your course only if you finish it within one year of your application date.
How often you pay
Server permits issued since January 1, 2025 are valid for two (2) years from the date of issue. Each new permit needs a new course and a new $20 application. At today's prices, that's $56 every two years with us if you keep serving.
If your employer pays
Some employers pay for their staff's course. If you're buying for several people, email [email protected] and tell us how many need the course. TABC's $20 fee is paid separately in each person's own RLPS application.
Refunds
At the start of the course, we explain who may not qualify for a Tennessee server permit. If you decide not to go on after reading it, email us before you complete any lesson and we'll refund your $36. Once you've continued into the lessons, this refund no longer applies.
Pass or your money back. If you finish the course and haven't passed the final exam within 30 days of your first try, email us within the next 30 days and we'll refund your $36.
To ask for a refund, email [email protected] from the address you signed up with. A refund closes your course enrollment. TABC's $20 application fee is paid to TABC, not to us, and TABC's rules make it non-refundable.
