How to print your Tennessee server permit or add it to your phone
The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) doesn't mail server permits. Once your application is approved, you print your permit from your account in RLPS, TABC's online permit system, or add it to your phone with the MyTN app. If you've lost your permit, you can print another copy from RLPS the same way.
Print it from RLPS
Before you start, turn off your pop-up blocker for TABC pages, as TABC advises. TABC's printing guide has screenshots of each step.
- On a computer, log in to RLPS.
- Click the My Records tab.
- Click the RLPS ID of your permit record, the one that shows as Active. Don't click your application record.
- Click Print or View: License/Permit/Certificate.
- Your permit opens on a separate page. Use the PDF print function to print it, or save a copy to your computer.
If you don't see a permit to print, TABC may not have finished with your application yet. TABC's printing steps assume you've paid all required fees, your application shows as Issued and your permit record shows as Active. Your application and your permit are both listed under My Records.
Add it to your phone with MyTN
The MyTN app puts your permit in your phone's wallet. TABC's MyTN guide has screenshots of each step, though the app's screens can change as the state updates it.
- Install MyTN from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the app, tap the profile icon, then tap Login. If you're new to MyTN, tap Sign Up, create your profile and enter the PIN MyTN emails you, then log in. Your name and contact details in MyTN must match your permit exactly.
- Tap the search icon and choose My ABC Server Permit. Don't choose ABC Permit Search. That's a public lookup tool, and it won't give you a copy of your permit.
- Tap Find My Server Permit. If you haven't verified your identity in MyTN yet, you'll do it now: tap ID Verification, then Next, confirm your personal information matches your permit, and answer the security questions. When you see the green checkmark, tap Continue.
- Tap Add to Wallet. If your phone shows a preview of the permit in your wallet app, tap Add there to finish.
If your permit isn't valid, or your application hasn't been processed yet, MyTN won't show any permit details. TABC says the app updates your permit when it expires.
Is a phone copy OK at work?
Yes. TABC requires servers to have a copy of their permit with them while working, and a digital copy counts if it's easy to pull up. The business you work for has to keep a copy of each server's permit too, and an electronic copy works there as well if it's readily available and easily accessible.
Can't log in, or can't find your permit?
For RLPS, call the TABC help desk at 615-532-2297 or email [email protected]. Forgot your MyTN password? Tap Forgot Password on the MyTN login screen. If MyTN can't find your permit because your profile doesn't match, email [email protected] for help finding the contact information on your permit, so you can match your profile to it.
Lost your course certificate?
TABC's printing steps don't ask for your course certificate. If you'd like another copy, use the link in your course completion email, or sign in at tnserverpermits.com and open the Certificates tab in your account.
